friday inspiration

It's Friday! I love Friday! All week I am excited for Friday! Woo-hoo!

(Not that I'm living for the weekend or anything). :)

2 really cool, encouraging things from my kids made my week:

1). One of my 8th grade boys wrote a story for the school yearbook explaining that he really liked the teachers at the middle school, especially Mrs. Swift. (Brownie points! Brownie points!) Today he asked me to read it, and I almost started crying. I love this kid. He told me that I was his favorite Para-Professional (although he called me a Parafessional, haha, I'll take that too). He makes my job worth it.

2). I'm reading this really great book called TrueFaced by Bill Thrall, Bruce McNicol, and John Lynch. It's a really great book about being who you really are and not striving to be someone else. One of my kids asked me what I was reading yesterday. I tried to explain it to him in a safe, non-imposing-my-religious-views-on-him way (uh, public schools), and afterward he said. "Mrs. Swift I know what you mean. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not." Wow. Powerful. Chances are he's ripped that from somewhere, but either way it made me smile. I encouraged him to keep that up. Maybe I should too. ;)

Happy weekend! Happy resting! Happy dreaming!
